Buddhism in the Modern World

Please join us for a weekend course about “Buddhism in the Modern World” with Eckart Dross, a Buddhist teacher from Argentina. The course will include an overview of Diamond Way Buddhism and the important methods it uses for working with mind.

Simply put, Buddha’s teachings enable us to experience lasting happiness. By using suitable meditations, our theoretical knowledge turns into direct experience leading to the goal of Buddha’s teachings – the full development of body, speech and mind.

The teachings of Buddhism have remained a liberating gift to mankind for the last 2,450 years. Non-dogmatic and without any gods or commandments, they have enabled people to benefit both others and themselves. Especially today, with the many independent thinkers and new communication techniques, it has become possible to collect, organize and distribute Buddhist teachings, old as new, in attractive and fresh ways.

In today’s fast paced world, how can we use these timeless methods in our modern, busy lives?

Eckart Dross became Buddhist in 1998 and founded the Diamond Way Centre in Buenos Aires, Argentina. He has been instrumental in setting up other centres and retreat places throughout South America. He has been travelling and teaching Buddhism internationally since 2005, giving lectures and courses on Buddhism at Lama Ole Nydahl’s request, throughout South America, Europe, Australia and Asia.

The course will start on Friday 2 September at 7.30pm with a public talk to introduce the course, and will continue on Saturday and Sunday at 10am on both days. Both weekend days will include a meditation session starting at 10am and a further talk with Eckart starting at 2pm.

The talks on Friday evening, Saturday afternoon and Sunday afternoon will cost HK$80 (HK$50 for concessions) each to attend.

Venue: Diamond Way Buddhist Centre Hong Kong, 2/F, 3-5 Jervois Street, Sheung Wan, Hong Kong

All are welcome to attend and translation into Cantonese will also be available. We look forward to seeing you there!
