Meditation Course with Lama Ole Nydahl in Hong Kong

It is a great pleasure to announce that our main teacher, Lama Ole Nydahl, will be visiting Hong Kong from 1-3 March 2013 and will host a Meditation Course. This 3-day intensive course will begin with an introductory talk about Buddhist meditation on Friday evening and will continue with four sessions over the weekend, exploring this central Buddhist topic more deeply.

In Buddhism, meditation means “effortlessly remaining in what is.” This state may be brought about by calming and holding the mind, by realizing compassion and wisdom, or by working with the body’s energy channels and meditating on Buddha forms of light and energy. The most effective methods are the constant identification with one’s own potential to be a Buddha and experiencing the richness of every situation in life; both of which are taught in Diamond Way Buddhism. When one understands that the seer, what is seen, and the act of seeing are not separate from each other; the goal has been reached.

About Lama Ole Nydahl

Lama Ole Nydahl is one of the few Westerners fully qualified as a lama and meditation teacher in the Karma Kagyu Buddhist tradition. In 1969, Ole Nydahl and his wife Hannah became the first Western students of H.H. the 16th Gyalwa Karmapa. After completing three years of Buddhist philosophy studies and intensive meditation training – including the transmission for a unique Diamond Way Buddhist practice called Conscious Dying (tib. Phowa) – Ole Nydahl began teaching Buddhism in Europe at the request of the 16th Karmapa. Lama Ole has since transmitted the blessing of the lineage in a different city nearly every day, traveling and teaching worldwide. His depth of knowledge and dynamic teachings inspire thousands of people at his lectures and meditation retreats.

Challenging people’s concepts of life and Buddhism in an unorthodox manner, Lama Ole has been a major driving force in bringing Buddhism to the West, and to date his unique inspiration has led to the establishment of more than 600 Diamond Way Buddhist centers in 44 countries around the world. His original synthesis of modern style and ancient wisdom have helped create the largest body of students practicing Diamond Way Buddhist methods in the West.
