  • Meditation in Daily Life

    9 September 2026 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
7/F, On Lan Centre, 11-15 On Lan Street · Hong Kong Island

The Buddha taught many methods for skilfully working with mind. Among these, meditation techniques are very important and have several aims: they free us from disturbing emotions; help us to realise the dreamlike nature of our experience (while strengthening our compassionate ability to help others to do the same); and allow us to recognise the timeless and perfect potential of mind. This talk will give an overview of the types of Buddhist meditation, focussing in particular on how these methods can be used in our daily lives, and will include a guided meditation. There will also be an opportunity to ask any questions you may have. All are welcome!

  • Death and Rebirth

    10 September 2026 @ 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
7/F, On Lan Centre, 11-15 On Lan Street · Hong Kong Island

In Tibetan Buddhism, the practitioner relates to death in an open and scientific way. Buddhists strive to understand and utilise the mental states that arise when mind and body separate. Over the centuries Buddhist masters have gained great insight into the experience of death. For them death is not a mystery—they know what will happen and see it as a great chance for spiritual development.

“Because the experiencer was not born, it also cannot die. Only our bodies, because they are conditioned, will die away.” — Lama Ole Nydahl, Fearless Death.

The lecture on Death and Rebirth will speak to the Buddhist wisdom on the art of dying, aligned with Lama Ole Nydahl’s book Fearless Death. It will be followed by a guided meditation on Amitabha, the Buddha of Limitless Light—a practice that helps us prepare to access a state of pure bliss at the moment of death. There will also be time for questions. All are welcome!
